Having crossed paths many times from SF to NY and back, Emily and Lisa launched ES|LO Design Studio in San Francisco in 2018. Practicing independently and with notable firms on both coasts [+ points in between, too!], ES and LO bring an aesthetic range to residential projects of all sizes, from cabin to estate. Their work reflects a blend of classic modernism, originality, as well as respect for a building’s historical context – never losing sight of the living nature of a home, with its functional needs and its unique inhabitants.

ES and LO are skilled at balancing beauty with pragmatism and juggling the myriad of details required to translate a vision into a reality. Creating ES|LO studio is a dream come true for ES and LO, and their most gratifying reward is making a client’s dream space come to life.
